Remembrance Ceremony
In conjunction with California Peace Officers Memorial Week, the Sacramento Police / Sheriff Memorial Foundation remembers fallen officers with a ceremony and a 21-gun salute. For more information please see this link.
Garden Club Plant Sale
Load up on outdoor and indoor plants, containers, tools, and books while supporting Club at their annual fundraiser. Typically held the first Saturday in May at Woodlake Elementary.
Summer Reading Program
All ages are invited to sign up and participate in the free summer program. Held from May 15 – August 15 at the North Sacramento-Hagginwood Library. Click here for more information.
Camp Pollock GlampOut
A fun overnight camping experience in Woodlake’s backyard to benefit the Sacramento Valley Conservancy. Cost ($35-55) includes ‘glamp’ food, drinks and activities. Bring a tent, lawn chair, sleeping bag, flashlight and comfortable camping clothes. Held in late June (Saturday evening through Sunday morning) at Camp Pollock. Register here.
Woodlake Pride & Patriotism
Neighbors are invited to display rainbow “Pride” lawn flags for a week in June and American “Patriotism” flags the first week in July. Participation is free, and people are welcome to request one or both flags, distributed at the start of each week and picked up at the end.
Fourth of July Parade & BBQ
Following the pledge of allegiance, a parade cuts a short but celebratory route through Woodlake along Forrest, Garden, and Oxford Streets, ending back where it started at Woodlake Park with a variety of treats to enjoy. Bring your decorated self or riding toy for the parade! Several homes designate themselves as parade watchers, and there are often barbeques and celebrations throughout the day. The parade is held July 4 around 10:00 a.m.
National Night Out
This event, held in Woodlake and communities across the nation, gives neighbors the chance to get to know one another, increase crime prevention, and strengthen partnership between police and communities. The Neighborhood Association invites elected officials and police representatives to attend this fun and relaxed event. Held in the evening on the first Tuesday in August at Woodlake Park. All-Woodlake Yard Sale
Dozens of homes participate in this event, taking advantage of the collective opportunity to make some money, create garage space, and visit with neighbors. Shoppers are able to walk from yard to yard and look for their next find. Typically held in mid-August (a Saturday) from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and organized by the WNCT.
Pumpkin Carving Party
Carve or decorate a pumpkin (provided) and enjoy face painting and other family fun at this free community event. Held the Saturday before Halloween at 1:00 p.m. in Woodlake Park.
Halloween
Hundreds of families from Woodlake and the surrounding areas enjoy trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. Enjoy the festive decorations, costumes, and sounds of revelry; if you plan on welcoming trick-or-treaters, make sure to be prepared with plenty of candy!
Holiday Light Competition
Get your home ready for Woodlake’s annual Holiday Lighting Contest! Prizes will be awarded to the three homes in Woodlake with the most festive decorations this season. Judging will take place in late December and prizes, donated by residents, will be presented to the winners in time for the holiday. Nothing is more magical during the holiday season than lights lining rooflines and twinkling in trees and shrubs.
